OBITUARY - GLADYS (CAMPBELL) MILLER HUSS

Gladys HUSS, 95, of Creston died July 22, 2004, at Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St. The Rev. Mark MILLIKAN, associate pastor of Jerusalem United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Creston. Open visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Union County Historical Society. Mrs. HUSS, daughter of Olive (TOY) and Charles F. CAMPBELL, was born December 27, 1908, in Mount Ayr. She graduated from Mount Ayr High School. On December 15, 1932, she married Emmett Henry MILLER in Ringgold County. In January 1969, she married Forrest HUSS. She was a homemaker and teacher for nearly six years. She taught country school in Ringgold County and a substitute teacher at country school in Union County. She lived in and around Creston since 1943. She was a member of the Jerusalem United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, Eastern Star in Afton, and White Shrine, holding many offices. She attended the United Methodist Church in Afton.

Survivors include a son, Gary E. MILLER of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Nellie (husband Arnold) EBLEN of Creston; a daughter-in-law, Ruth MILLER of Creston; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband September 20, 1960; second husband in 1975; daughter-in-law, Kathy MILLER; son, C. Wayne MILLER; a grandson, Gregory Dean EBLEN; a brother, William CAMPBELL; and three sisters, Myrtle MAIN, Mabel NAUMAN and Alberta MICHAEL.
