OBITUARY - BERNICE LURENE (GRIM) NIEDT CURRY HUNT
Bernice Lurene HUNT, 87, of Afton died October 20, 2005, at Afton Care Center.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 23, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. The Rev. Dwayne HENRICHS will
officiate the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Creston. Open visitation will be 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday with
the family receiving friends 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Memorials may be directed to the
Mrs. HUNT, daughter of Ada May (GIBBENS) and James F. GRIM, was born March 12, 1918, in Long Creek Township in
Decatur County. She attended country school in Comstock, Neb.
On September 28, 1935, she married Estie Fred NIEDT in
Comstock, Neb. They lived in the Comstock, Neb., and Kellerton areas. He preceded her in death. On July 20, 1956, she
married Bert Emmett CURRY in Savannah, Mo., and later settled in the Creston area. He died in May 1962. On April 18,
1964, she married John Alson HUNT in Madison County [IA]. They lived in Creston for a brief time before moving to a small
acreage near Arispe. He died May 27, 1981. Then she moved to the Afton Care Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Coleen (husband Earl) BRINER of Tingley; son Gary (wife Violet) NIEDT of Geneseo, Ill.; two
grandchildren, Cindy PETTY and Lyndon CURRY and great-granddaughter, Kimberly.
In addition to her three husbands, she
was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Eldon NIEDT and Ricky CURRY; two sisters and four brothers.
