The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1930

OBITUARY - MRS. A. A. HUGGINS.

Mrs. Lou H. [(RITZ)] HUGGINS was born in Bucyrus, Ohio, December 16, 1858. She lived with her parents in Ohio until the spring of 1882, when the family moved to a farm near Paloa, Kan., and later moved to Mount Ayr.

She as united in marriage to Adolphus A. HUGGINS in Mount Ayr, March 26, 1901. Mr. HUGGINS preceded her in death October 25, 1925. She is survived by her stepson Asa HUGGINS, two step grandchildren, Margaret and Walter HUGGINS, and one sister, Mrs. A. W. GEORGE of California.

She was a member of the church all her life, being raised in the Lutheran faith and in early life was a member of that church. After coming to Mount Ayr she united with the Methodist church and continued, as long as her health would permit, faithful and active in all the programs of the church. She was a member of the Mount Ayr Chapter P. E. O.

Mrs. HUGGINS was known and loved by a large group of friends and her departure brought sorrow and a sense of personal loss to many.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Mount Ayr Friday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. E. S. MENOHER, and interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Card of Thanks.

We take this means of expressing to our neighbors and friends our heart-felt thanks for their kindness expressed in helpful acts and sympathy generously bestowed during the illness and on the occasion of the death and funeral; also for the beautiful flowers and the Christmas greeting cards sent to the hospital.
--Asa HUGGINS.
