The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1931

OBITUARY - MRS. ANNA BARBARA HUCKE.

Anna Barbara LEPPER was born near the City of Cassel in Germany January 3, 1841, and was united in marriage to Conrad HUCKE on September 4, 1857.

She was the mother of eight children - three dying in infancy. The five living were with their mother when the end came. They are: Henry, Mrs. C. B. DINKEL and Mrs. J. M. CAMPBELL of Mount Ayr; Mrs. G. E. RIDER of Madill, Okla.; Chas. C. HUCKE of St. Joseph, Mo.

She was baptized into the Lutheran church in infancy and remained in that church until forty-five years ago, when she united with the Methodist church in Mount Ayr under the pastorate of Rev. P. J. VOLLMER.

Besides the five children she is survived by three granchildren and one great grandchild

Funeral services were held at the CAMPBELL home in Mount Ayr Saturday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by the Rev. E. S. MENOHER, pastor of the local Methodist church, and interment in Rose Hill cemetery.

We acknowledge with sincere thanks the words of sympathy expressed and the many kind acts of our friends and neighbors during the illness and at the death of our mother; also for the floral offerings. --Henry and Chas. C. HUCKE, Mrs. J. M. CAMPBELL, Mrs. C. B. DINKEL, Mrs. G. E. RIDER.

NOTE: Children of Conrad and Anna Barbara (LEPPER) HUCKE include Henry HUCKE, born 1858 and died 1937; Charles C. HUCKE, born 1868 and died 1945; Frank HUCKE, died at age 1 year and 3 days on July 29, 1873; Adda (HUCKE) DINKEL, born 1876 and died 1951; and Conrad HUCKE, died on March 19, 1881. All interments were at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
