The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1922

OBITUARY - JAMES T. HILL.

James T. HILL was born September 5, 1831, in West Port, Kentucky, and passed away November 10, 1922, at Clarinda, Iowa, being ninety-one years, two months and five days old.

When quite young the family moved to Indiana, where he grew to manhood. About 1860 he came west and later was married to Amanda BEASLEY in Nebraska. About forty-five years ago he moved to Mount Ayr, Iowa, where he has since made his home. He was an honest, upright citizen, conscientious in his dealings, often expressing his faith in Christ as his personal savior.

His wife passed away about thirteen years ago.

Four children survive, two sons and two daughters. The immediate cause of his death was appoplexy. He is the last member of the family of the older generation to be called home.

The funeral was held Friday at 11 o'clock a.m. at the home of his nephew, J. H. SEEVERS, in west Mount Ayr, conducted by Rev. Jay KIRKENDALL, and interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

The relatives take this means of expressing to the neighbors and friends their sincere thanks for the many kindnesses shown on the occasion of the death and funeral.
