OBITUARY CLAIR B. HEYER

American Flag.jpg Clair B. HEYER, 97, of Mount Ayr, formerly of Tingley, died February 23, 2007, at Mount Ayr Health Care Center.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, at Tingley Christian Church. The Rev. Alan RUSK and the Rev. Merlin WILKINS will officiate the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to Mount Ayr Health Care Center and Covenant House. Online condolences may be left at: www.watsonarmstrongfh.com

Clair HEYER, son of Wilma Daisy (SMITH) and John HEYER, was born February 15, 1910, in Tingley. He received a master's degree from Northern Illinois University. In 1931, Clair married Hazel VOLTMER. On Jan. 2, 1988, Clair married Donna M. RICHARDSON. He worked as an archivist at Hebert HOOVER Library in West Branch. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the Tingley United Methodist Church and Lions Club, and Rotary Club 55 years.

Survivors include his wife, Donna HEYER of Tingley; two daughters, Kristine H. (husband Russell) BROWN of Snohomish, Wash., and Kathryn CRAWFORD of Tingley; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Clair was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and infant sister Pauline HEYER.
