The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1923

OBITUARY.

Anna Ellingson OLSON was born in Christiana, Norway, January 10, 1847 and departed this life in Tingley, Iowa, April 18th, 1923, aged seventy-six years, three months and eighteen days. She was married to Bunhord HEYER in 1865. For years later in 1869 the young couple landed in the United States and settled at Blanchard, Wisconsin. In 1875 the moved to Davis City, Iowa, where they resided for a short time, they then moved to Ridgeway, Mo., where they resided for more than twenty years. In 1906 she came to Tingley to be near her children, who lived here and has resided here continuously ever since. She was the mother of eleven children, five of whom died in infancy. There are left to mourn her departure three sons and three daughters - Mrs. Emma DeLONG and Helen SMITH, of Tingley; Mrs. Velma HALTON, of Chariton; John L., of Tingley; Fred R., of Clearfield; Peter H., whose address id not known at present; besides a host of friends. The husband and father died in 1907. Mrs. HEYER was reared in the Lutheran church until 1904 when she was baptized into Christ and united with the Church of Christ at Ridgeway, Mo., and has remained trued and faithful to her Master, attending services until failing heath prevented. She was always kind and patient, remembering her friends and acquantances. To know her was to love her. Funeral services were held in the Christian church with her former pastor of Lenox, Iowa, in charge. She was laid away to rest beside her husband in the Tingley cemetery.

A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our homes,
which never can be filled.
Friendship and love have done their best,
And now we can do no more
The bitterness of death is past,
And all her sufferings o'er.
