Ringgold Record, 1892
Mrs. Leota M. HAYMOND was born in Elkhart, Indiana March 3rd 1855. When but a child she moved with her parents to Council
Bluffs, Iowa. After a short residence in the west, they returned to Richmond, Ohio, where she became a member of the M. E.
church in her twelfth year. Shortly after, the family took up their residence in Ravenswood, West Virginia where she was
married to Wm. C. HAYMOND, in her seventeenth year. Her husband died June 1883. Several years ago she came with her
parents to Mount Ayr, where she has since resided. From the date of her connection with the church, her life was consistent
with her profession being always found at her post in the Sabbath School and in other christian work. Five years ago through
the ministry of evangelist G. W. WILSON, the Lord graciously revealed Himself to her as a precious, personal Savior.
Shortly after she entered into the experience of perfect love, since which she has been a living witness of God's power to
save to the uttermost.
Since the year 1885 she has been in the employ of the firm of Huggins & Saville as trimmer
in their millinary department, where she most faithfully discharged every known duty and has most "holily and unblamably
walked" in all these years. To those who associated with her daily, her gentle, loving ways have been a continual
inspiration to a better life. November 17th last, she was prostrated with, what proved to be, her fatal illness. Eleven
weeks she bore her great affliction with christian fortitude, and that patience, which no heart save one supported by the
Infinite loving Jesus can manifest. For days her life hung in the balance, when finally February 2nd, after a day of
comparative rest and freedom from pain she quietly fell asleep in Jesus. Such a beautiful life could have but one ending,
and her last testimony to pastor and loved ones was full of confidence and joy in her Redeemer. All her friends may find
in the memory of her life an inspiration to faithful living. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church, and
conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. B. THOMPSON assisted by Rev. G. W. WILSON.CARD OF THANKS.
We return our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to our many kind friends who stood by us in administering to the wants of
our dear daughter who has gone forever.MR. & MRS. S. HENDERSON & FAMILY
