The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1930

OBITUARY - JAMES EDWARD HAWK.

James Edward "Ed" HAWK was born September 20, 1866, and departed this life October 1st, 1930, aged 64 years and ten days.

He was united in marriage to Rosetta HAM [HAMM?] March 25, 1889, she having departed this life 32 years previous. To this union four children were born, one son and three daughters, one daughter dying in infancy.

He was married again to Minnie BRUMETT April 17, 1904, at Woodward, Okla. To this union was born two children, one daughter and one son, the son dying in infancy.

When a young man he united with the Church of Christ at Mount Ayr, Iowa. He was a kind, loving husband and father; loved and respected by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife, Mrs. Ed HAWK; one son, C. O. HAWK of Hennessey, Okla., and three daughters, Mrs. I. C. LUCAS of Kingfisher, Okla., Mrs. H. J. HOLLEN of Mount Ayr, Iowa, and Edna HAWK of the home and nine grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lenna HOBSON of Jasper, Mo., Mrs. Ida PERSONS of Maryville, Mo., and Mrs. Allison TIDRICK of Tingley, Iowa; three brothers, John HAWK of Omaha, Neb., D. A. HAWK of Tingley, Iowa, Del HAWK of Creston, Iowa, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Rhoades Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. Harold SMITH, pastor of the local Church of Christ, and interment in Rose Hill cemetery.
