Ringgold Record, 1886
Mrs. Martha A. HAMM, wife of Mr. Jonathan HAMM, died after a servere illness of brain fever, at her home in Mt. Ayr, Iowa,
March 13, 1886.
She joined the joined the (sic) M.E. church a few years ago, during a meeting held by Bro. DANNER on the
Kellerton charge. Of late she was not identified with any church, owing perhaps to circumstances; yet from what she said
to the writer, during her sickness, at different times, she had made a full surrender to God and said: "I am trusting in
Jesus for salvation."
She leaves a husband and six children, who have the sympathy of many friends. Funeral services
were held at the home, after which the remains were taken to the south [Rose Hill] cemetery [Mount Ayr].
