OBITUARY - DOROTHA (LANE) HALEY

Dorotha HALEY, 81, of Benton died March 15, 2005, at the Health Care Center in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Eydie STEPHENS will officiate the service. Burial will be in Benton Cemetery. There is open visitation after 10 a.m. Thursday with family visitation 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Mount Ayr. A memorial has been established in her name.

Mrs. HALEY, daughter of Cora Margi (HALL) and Fred Douglas LANE, was born March 18, 1923, in Delphos. She graduated from Benton High School in 1941. On October 5, 1941, she married James C. HALEY in Grant City, Mo. She was a cook supervisor at Clearview Homes 21 years. She was a member of the Christian Church, Rebekah Lodge in Benton and American Legion Auxiliary and Ringgold County Hospital Auxiliary, both in Mount Ayr.

Survivors include her husband, James C. HALEY of Mount Ayr; son Robert F. (wife Linda) HALEY of Benton; three daughters, Joan (husband Donald) STRINGHAM of Benton, Julia (husband Donald) STEPHENS of Redding and Mary Jane (husband Ernie) GARRETT of Diagonal; brother Leo (wife Carol) LANE of Ocklawaham, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Marion Douglas LANE.
