Esther Iva HACKER, daughter of Ray William JAMES and Gussie (ARNOLD) JAMES, was born February 16, 1916 at Chugwater,
Wyoming. Esther graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1936. On July 10, 1937, she was united in marriage to Cleo
P. HACKER in Creston. Esther was a homemaker; a member of the First Christian Church, TOPS, COPS, and the Garden
Club. Esther passed away at the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr on March 14, 2007.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Cleo on July 30, 2003; 2 step-sons Paul "Pete" HACKER and
Vernon Lee HACKER; 2 sisters, Zola JAMES and Dorothy RANDOLPH.
Survivors include her children, Lyndon (Jan) HACKER of San Diego, CA, Leila (Marlin) NIDAY of Marengo, IA, and
Juanita (John) SICKELS of Mount Ayr; 13 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; 1
brother Lawrence (Audrey) JAMES of Marysville, KS; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services were held on Sunday, March 18, 2007, at 1:00 p.m., Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr, Iowa.

OBITUARY - ESTHER (JAMES) HACKER
Esther HACKER, 91, of Mount Ayr died March 14, 2007, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The
Rev. Charles HAWKINS and the Rev. Edward SHIELDS will officiate the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount
Ayr. Open visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in
Mount Ayr. Memorials may be directed to Mount Ayr Chapter of Hospice of Central Iowa. Online condolences may be left at:
Esther HACKER, daughter of Gussie (ARNOLD) and Ray JAMES, was born February 16, 1916, in
Chugwater, Wyo. She graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1936. On July 10, 1937, Esther married Cleo Paul HACKER in
Creston. She worked at Places Dime Store and Hacker Paint and Paper store. She was a member of the First Christian Church,
TOPS, KOPS and a garden club.
Survivors include three children, Lyndon (wife Jan) HACKER of San Diego, Calif., Leila
(husband Marlin) NIDAY of Margeno and Juanita (husband John) SICKELS of Mount Ayr; brother Lawrence (wife Audrey) JAMES of
Marysville, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepsons Paul "Pete" HACKER and Vernon Lee HACKER, and two sisters,
Zola JAMES and Dorothy RANDOLPH.
