Helen Louise (Bata) Froit was born on May 14, 1930 north of Diagonal, Iowa to Joseph Frank Bata and Fairy Helen (Jones) Bata. Louise had two younger sisters Reva and Donna. The three girls remained very close through out the years.
Growing up Louise lived in Texas and Iowa and spent many happy hours with her maternal grandparents, Poppy and Flossie Jones. She graduated from Diagonal High School and was very proud to be valedictorian.
