OBITUARY ~ CHARLES HICKS EWALT

Charles Hicks Ewalt son of Clem and Margarette Ewalt was born May 1, 1851 at San Antonio, Texas.

When but two years of age he moved with his parents to Peoria where he grew to manhood.

He was united in marriage to Miss Raberta Brumbaugh, Jan. 21, 1875, in Peoria, Ill. To this union were born three children one dying in infancy. In 1887 Mr. Ewalt moved to a farm southwest of Lenox where he lived several years. In 1901 he moved to Clearfield.

He was a member of the Episcopal church.

Mr. Ewalt was a kind, loving friend and neighbor and will be greatly missed.

He died at the home of his son Frank 2 miles east of this place [Clearfield], at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 23 days. His death occurred April 24.

He is survived by one son, Frank, and one daughter, Mrs. George Swanson, and one grandson Millard Lee Ewalt.

Mrs. Ewalt preceded him in death several years ago and since that time he has made his home with his son.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev, Hutchman. Interment was made in Clearfield cemetery.
