OBITUARY ~ JERRY LYNN EMIG

Jerry Emig, 23, former resident of Lenox, died Saturday, March 27th in Kansas City, Kansas. He had been injured and seriously burned in a one car accident nine days earlier.

Jerry Lynn Emig, son of Gerald Henry Emig and Darlene Lucille Lantz Emig of Lenox, was born Oct. 15, 1952 at Lamoni, Iowa. He was 23 years, 5 months and 12 days of age at the time of his death.

He was united in marriage to Lynn Carol Russman in October, 1970. He farmed at Maysville, Mo., and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest pleasure was being with his nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father on Oct. 28, 1973 and his grandparents. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Lynn and mother, Darlene, three brothers and three sisters, five nephews and four nieces, Charles Gary and wife Linda, children Tommy and Cheri of Eagleville, Mo.; Larry Lee and wife Carol and children Kirk and Kerry Sue of Eagleville, Mo, Karyn Kay Graham and husband Bob, children Robbie and Kelly of Benton, Iowa; Donna Rae Hardisty and husband Don and son David of Corning, Iowa, Darla Diann Brown and husband Don and children Dawn and Duke of Gulfport, Mississippi, Rodney Alan at home in Lenox, and a host of relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held at 12:30 in the Maple Row cemetery at Kellerton, Iowa.

[Jerry was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving as an AS in the U.S. Navy.]
