OBITUARY - GERTRUDE LAURA (SHATTO) GRIFFIN

Gertrude Laura SHATTO was born on October 05, 1988 at Knowlton, Iowa to Levi Jackson SHATTO and Sarah Lucinda (DARBY) SHATTO. She later moved to Bloomfield. Davis Co. Iowa. She was united in marriage to Jasper Park GRIFFIN on October 05, 1905 at Nevada, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1937. To this union eight children was born. Two sons, Paul Eugene and Edwin and one daughter Esther Irene ALLEN preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Alfred Charles of Des Moines, Iowa, Arthur of Springfield Mo. and Lawrence of rural Birch Tree, two daughters, Nellie COBB and Gladys MARTIN of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by four grandsons, Steve GRIFFIN of St. Louis, Artie GRIFFIN of Springfield, Mo., William ALLEN of Springfield, Mo. and Amel Jr. ALLEN of Delta, Colorado, also four granddaughters; Victoria GRIFFIN of St. Louis, Mo., Patricia (ALLEN) THOMPSON of Clever, Mo., Iris (ALLEN) MAGER of Winthrop Harbor, Ill. and Letia (ALLEN) WILKERSON of Lawrenceburg, Mo. and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She moved to Montier and Birch Tree area in 1940 and had made her home here since, She passed away on December 13, 1973 at her home north of Birch Tree.

Services were held at Duncan Funeral Home at Mountain View in December 17, 1973 with Earl BEARCE officiating. Burial at Montier Cemetery.
