County Care Center in Troy, Missouri. She was baptized at the Christian Church in Grant City, Missouri at a young age.
Mae was united in marriage to Harrison Benjamin Drummins in November 1909 at home at Pleasant View Farm, Grant City,
Missouri. Harrison preceded her in death at age 40 on February 14, 1930.
On July 4, 1931 Mae was united in marriage to John Allen Gravett at Shenandoah, Iowa. To this union were born two
daughters, Ruth Elaine Gravett who died on July 16, 1942 and Deloris Mae Bear of Lake St. Louis, Missouri. John Allen
Gravett preceded her in death on June 1, 1956 at age 74.
Mae was a member of the Mount Ayr Christian Church. She resided with her husband in the faming communities near Bedford
and Clearfield, Iowa. In 1951 they retired to Mount Ayr, Iowa where Mae resided until failing health at the age of 89
when she moved to the St. Louis area to be near her daughter Deloris and family and watch her grandson Allen grow up.
Mae had always enjoyed the friendly Mount Ayr community while making many trips to SL Louis to visit her family. She was
a loving wife and mother and a great cook and homemaker. She had a vivid memory of her early life with friends and
relatives at Grant City, Missouri where she was reared. She was generous in the care of many people of her family in
sickness and in health.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deloris Mae Bear and husband Ramon of Lake St. Louis, Missouri;
grandson Allen Lee Bear and wife Wanda of Mountain Home, Idaho; step-daughter Cecyl Fazel of Santa Rosa, California;
and two step-granddaughters Mary Lynne Carlile and Kathy Daniels of Santa Rosa, California.

California, two brothers, Alphonso P. Pettis and Frank 0. Pettis, Jr., sister Lillie Pettis and several half brothers
and half sisters and a niece Leta Golf, all from Grant City, Missouri and a cousin Ada Gibson of Worth, Missouri.
Mae had seen progress from the horse and buggy to travel in outer space and lived through the adversity of two world
wars. She received birthday greetings from the White House, governors and congressmen. The nursing home and her doctor
congratulated her for setting a record as the oldest resident and patient.
Funeral services were held on Monday Ju1y 27, 1998 at the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr with Rev. Bill Gardner
officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Malcolm Eighmy and Harry Weber.
Casket bearers were Allen Bear, Max McGehee, Ted Bear, Dick Simpson, LBanks Wilson and Dr. Duane Mitchell.
