PRIMMER, HARDEN, GARTEN, DENNY, MAIN

Mt. Ayr Record-News, Mount Ayr, Iowa
Thursday, January 12,1950, page 10

Nellia Sarah Hacker, daughter of Daniel and Mary (Goodwin) Hacker, was born July 24, 1876, near Ringgold, and passed away December 28, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rolin Lysinger, at Lamoni, at the age of 73 years, five months, and three days. Mrs. Glendenning had spent the Christmas holidays in the home of her daughter, and was ill for only a day and a half.

One of a family of nine children, five of whom -- a brother and four sisters, preceded her in death. Mrs. Glendenning had spent all but about ten years of her life in Ringgold County.

She was united in marriage with Wesley H. Glendenning on October 5, 1904, and most of their married life was spent in and around Mount Ayr. To this union was born on daughter, Lillian. Her husband preceded her in death on February 2, 1941.

She was one of the oldest members of the Royal Neighbor Lodge in Mount Ayr. At an early age she became a member of the Methodist church, and remained faithful until the time of her death. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, and a good neighbor.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, son-in-law, grandson, Joe Lysinger, three brothers, Bill Hacker, of Spearman, Texas, Dick Hacker of Fairmont, Neb., and Jim Hacker, of Watterson, a sister, Julia Willard, of Pratt, Kan., and other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, December 30, at one o'clock, from the Rhoades Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Frank A. Moore. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
