LORENE GIDDINGS DIES - Shenandoah
Lorene [Evelyn (ZARUBA)] GIDDINGS, 71, of Shenandoah, passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 1989, at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 7, 1918, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Charles and Cleopatra (FISHER) ZARUBA. On March 15, 1941, she
married Donald Leroy GIDDINGS in Rock Port, Missouri. He preceded her in death.
She was a long-time secretary and
interpreter for the U.S. Bureau of Mines. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Orient Chapter 98 of Denver,
Colo., National Association of Retired Federal Employees and El Jebel Shrines Widows.
Mrs. GIDDINGS is survived by a
daughter, Mary Lou CARRICK of Valley Center, Calif.; two step-sons, Richard GIDDINGS of Little Rock, Ark., and Jack
GIDDINGS of Abilene, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday afternoon at the Bohemian
Cemetery at Diagonal with the Rev. Phil KINTON officiating. The Wilson-Watson Fuenral Home of Mount Ayr was in
charge of the arrangements.
A memorial has been established in her name.
