OBITUARY - HALDON DALE FUGATE

Haldon Dale FUGATE was born January 6, 1913, near Beaconsfield, Iowa, and passed away April 26, 1961, in his home in Loveland, Colo., at the age of 48 years, three months and 20 days.

Most of his life was spent in Ringgold county and in 1931 he graduated from the Mount Ayr High School. In 1930 he became a member of the Christian Church in Mount Ayr, and in 1951 he transferred his membership to the Kellerton Christian Church, which had since been his church home.

On February 20, 1937, he was united in marriage with LaVerne LAIRD, in Kansas City, Mo. A daughter, Sharon Marie, and two sons, Jerry Leigh and James Francis, came to bless their home.

His life was spent on farms near Beaconsfield and Kellerton, until 1956, when he moved to Kellerton. He worked in the CARR Chevrolet Garage in Mount Ayr and later did carpenter work. In January of this year [1961] he moved to Loveland, Colo. He was a loving father and husband and a good neightbor and made many friends wherever he went.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted widow; a daughter, Mrs. Jim WHITE, of Davenport; two sons, Jerry Leigh, who attends college in Maryville, Mo., and James Francis, a senior in the Kellerton schools; his mother, Mrs. Edna FUGATE, of Kellerton; a son-in-law, Jim WHITE; a grandson, Craig WHITE; several uncles, aunts and cousins; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held April 30, from the Church of Christ in Kellerton, conducted by the Rev. Vernon NORRIS. Mrs. Joe HAINLINE and Mrs. Vernon NORRIS sang, accompanied by Janice DUFFIELD, pianist. Casketbearers werre Sam MERRILL, Charley REED, Jack ROSS, Wayne JOHNSON, Perry KASTER and Ray McFARLAND. Interment was in the Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton.
