OBITUARY - NORMA MAURINE (ROBINSON) FREESTONE

Norma M. FREESTONE, age 78, of Fort Collins, died Sunday evening, July 15, 2007, at her home. Following cremation, a celebration of her life will be held at 4 p.m. August 11, 2007, under the tent at Rogers Park in Fort Collins.

Norma Maurine ROBINSON was born October 11, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., to Benjamin and Hannah ROBINSON. She grew up in South Central Iowa and married Marion Mac FREESTONE on September 1, 1946, in Mount Ayr, Iowa. They lived near Perry, Iowa, until 1956 when they came to Colorado, soon settling in Fort Collins.

Her sons remember and thank her for years of support and dedication raising them as a single mother. She was a Scrabble enthusiast and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She was a proud supporter of OpenStage Theatre and held the honor of being the company's very first season ticket holder. Norma was a longtime employee at CSU, where she worked in both housing and dining services, retiring in 1989.

She is survived by five of her six sons, Keith (and Jo) FREESTONE of Clifton, Bruce (and Denise) FREESTONE of Fort Collins, Brian FREESTONE of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Mack FREESTONE of Campion and Kyle (and Carrie) FREESTONE of Fort Collins; a brother, Wendall (and Ruth) ROBINSON of Lincoln, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Craig; her brothers, Robbie and Keith ROBINSON; and a granddaughter, Ariel.

The family requests that any memorial donations please be made to OpenStage Theatre & Co., P.O. Box 617, Fort Collins, Colo. 80522.
