OBITUARY - CARL FORD, Tingley

AFTON - Carl J. FORD, 77, of Tingley died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1989, at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Edwards Catholic Church in Afton. The Revs. Gerald STESSMAN and Michael BERNER will officiate with burial in the Calvary Cemetery at Corning. Visitiation will after 9 a.m. Thursday at the Stroud-Lindsay Funeral Home here until time of service. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be directed to St. Edwards Church in Afton.

Mr. FORD was born June 5, 1911, in Lenox to Thomas William and Mary Josephine (ALLEN) FORD. He married Anna Margaret SMITH April 11, 1939, in Afton. He was a farmer and spent most of his life in the Tingley area. He was a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church in Afton.

Survivors include his wife, Anna of Tingley; two sons, Carl Lawrence (wife Charlene) and Thomas Edward (wife Janet) FORD, both of Ellston; a daughter, Carla Ann (Mrs. David) BLANCHARD of Coon Rapids; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret FORD of Mount Ayr and Erma FORD of Springfield, Ill.
