OBITUARY - GERTRUDE L. (GRIMES) FOLAND

Gertrude L. FOLAND, 89, of Mount Ayr, formerly of Grand River, died April 3, 2004, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Hopeville Methodist Church. The Rev. Dwayne HENRICHS will officiate. Burial will be in Hopeville Cemetery. Open visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr, with family visitation 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hopeville Methodist Church. Memorials may be directed to Hopeville Methodist Church.

Mrs. FOLAND, daughter of Alma (PEARSON) and Harley W. GRIMES, was born September 27, 1914, in Stanwood. On June 22, 1940, she married Roy Isaac FOLAND in Indianola. She was a homemaker and country school teacher.

Survivors include three sons, Harold (wife Linda) FOLAND of Osceola, Glen (wife Janet) FOLAND of Fort Collins, Colo., and Kendall (wife Cheryl) FOLAND of Plattsburg, Mo.; two sisters, Norma FLORHA of Illinois and Edith (husband Richard) ALMAN of Hendersonville, N.C.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
