OBITUARY - JOHN FLETCHER
John FLETCHER, 69, of Creston died January 24, 2007, at Afton Care Center.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Services, 809 W. Montgomery St.
[Creston]. The Rev. Clark FINEHOUT of the First United Methodist Church in Creston will officiate the service. Burial with
military rites by Theodore J. Martens VFW Post No. 1797 will be in Diagonal Cemetery. The family will receive friends 9:30
a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Online

John FLETCHER, son of Alice Alcista (WIMER) and Everett Troy FLETCHER, was born May 14, 1937, near Mount Ayr in Ringgold
County. He graduated from Redding High School. On October 18, 1959, John married Karolyn Kay ERGENBRIGHT in Shannon City.
They were divorced in 1991.
John lived in Creston 42 years and Arizona while serving in the Air Force and Scottsbuff, Neb., for a few years. He owned
and operated FLETCHER Plumbing and Heating for more than 20 years. Previously, he worked for Purolator and Tractor Supply
in Creston. He served in the U.S. Air Force from December 1960 to December 1964.
Survivors include two daughters, Lori FLETCHER (companion Dave CARLISLE) of Shannon City and Lisa (husband Bob) MILLER of
Creston; five grandchildren, Dusti and Dillon CARLISLE and Skylar, Chad and Jake MILLER; six brothers, David FLETCHER
(special friend Barb PICKETT) of Grand Junction, Colo., Richard FLETCHER (special friend Cindy LOVE) of Afton, Tom FLETCHER
and Charles (wife Roxie) FLETCHER, all of Diagonal, Larry FLETCHER of Creston and Steve FLETCHER of Mount Ayr; three
sisters, Peggy (husband Ted) OLSON of Mitchelville and Karen (husband Dale) MAGEE and Patti (husband Ronnie) BIRD, all of
Creston; and sister-in-law Bonnie FLETCHER of Diagonal.
John was preceded in death by his mother November 22, 2006; father May 10, 1987; and brother Ed FLETCHER September 7, 2005.

John Robert FLETCHER, the son of Everett Troy and Alice Alcista (WIMER)
FLETCHER, was born on May 14, 1937, near Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa. John entered eternal rest on January 24,
2007, at the Afton Care Center, Afton, Iowa, at the age of sixty-nine years, eight months, and twelve days.
John graduated from Redding High School. On October 18, 1959, he married Karolyn Kay ERGENBRIGHT in Shannon City. They
later divorced in 1991. John served in the United States Air Force from December, 1960, until December, 1964.
John lived in Creston for 42 years. He lived in Arizona during the time he was in the Air Force and also lived in
Scottsbluff, NE for a few years. John owned and operated FLETCHER Plumbing and Heating for over 20 years. Prior to
starting his plumbing business, he worked for Purolator in Creston and for Tractor Supply.
John was a member of the Theodore J. MARTENS VFW Post #1797; and the Eagles Lodge in Creston.
Left to mourn Johnís passing are his daughters: Lori FLETCHER (companion Dave CARLISLE), Shannon City; and Lisa (husband
Bob) MILLER, Creston; his Grandchildren: Dusti and Dillon CARLISLE; Skylar, Chad and Jake MILLER; his brothers: David
FLETCHER (special friend, Barb PICKETT), Grand Junction, CO; Richard FLETCHER (special friend, Cindy LOVE), Afton; Tom
FLETCHER, Diagonal; Larry FLETCHER, Creston; Charles (wife Roxie) FLETCHER, Diagonal; and Steve FLETCHER, Mount Ayr; his
sisters: Peggy (husband Ted) OLSON, Mitchelville, IA; Karen (husband Dale) MAGEE, Creston; and Patti (husband Ronnie)
BIRD, Creston; Sister-in-law: Bonnie FLETCHER, Diagonal.
Preceding John in death were his parents: Mother Alice on November 22, 2006; Father Everett on May 10, 1987; and Brother
Ed FLETCHER on September 7, 2005.
