OBITUARY - MARTHA (WILSON) FARIS

Martha M. FARIS, 63, of Mount Ayr died February 20, 2004, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at First Christian Church in Mount Ayr. The Rev. John BRILLO will officiate the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be after 9 a.m. Tuesday with family visitation 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. A memorial has been established in her name.

Mrs. FARIS, daughter of Mildred Juanita (FINLEY) and James Edwin WILSON, was born August 19, 1940, in Yellow Jacket, Colo. On May 7, 1958, she married Lee FARIS in Cortez, Colo. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of Iowa and Ringgold County Cattle Women, Quilt Guild of Creston, Doll Club and Soil Conservation Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Lee FARIS of Mount Ayr; three children, Rodney (wife Elizabeth) FARIS and Jacqueline (husband Russell) STEWART, all of Mount Ayr, and Jennifer (husband Shawn) BYRD of Diagonal; two sisters, Mary Ellen (husband Charles) McCOMB of Lewis, Colo., and Florence (husband Elbert) RANDLES of Cortez, Colo., one brother, Elza (wife Peggy) WILSON of Clifton, Colo.; brothers-in-law, James (wife Katie) FARIS of Lancaster and Lyle FARIS and Kay FARIS, both of Mount Ayr; sisters-in-law, Louise (husband Doyle) STAMPER of Mount Ayr and Lucille (husband Ronald) DEEMER of Davis City; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, John Roger FARIS; and brother-in-law, Walter HILL.

Martha May WILSON FARIS, daughter of Edwin and Mildred (FINLEY) WILSON of Yellow Jacket, died in Mount Ayr, Iowa, on Friday, February 20, [2004] after a lengthy illness.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, [2004] at the Mount Ayr First Christian Church.

Martha is survived by her husband, Lee FARIS, her children Rodney and Elizabeth FARIS, Jackie and Russell STEWART of Mount Ayr, Iowa; Jennifer and Shawn BYRD of Diagonal, Iowa; seven grandchildren; her sisters Florence and Elbert RANDLES of Cortez; Mary Ellen and Chuck McCOMB of Lewis; and her brother Elza and Peggy WILSON of Clifton. She was preceeded in death by her parents and infant son John Roger FARIS.

Internment will be at Rose Hill Cemetary at Mount Ayr, Iowa. Cards can be sent to Lee FARIS, 2429 190th St., Mount Ayr, Iowa 50854-9717.
