OBITUARY ~ MARGUERITE DUFTY

Marguerite Dufty, daughter of George and Jennie Lesan Vance, was born on July 13, 1916, in Ringgold County, Iowa, and passed away at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice House in Pueblo on Nov. 29, 2011. Marguerite married Bernard Dufty on Sept. 13, 1935. Survivors include: their five children, Peggy (Milford) Moen, Indianola, Iowa; Alan (Kathy) Dufty, Rye; Nancy (John) Gill, Pueblo West; Linda (Richard) Clennin, Buelah; and Sherry (Bill) Bell, Canon City; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Anderson, Creston, Iowa. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents and husband. After living on a farm in Ringgold County, Iowa, for 32 years, Marguerite and Bernard moved to Rye in 1967. They were members of Rye Home Methodist Church for many years. Marguerite moved to the Pueblo Regent in 2000 and lived there until her death. The center of Marguerite’s life was her family. She was a wonderful cook, an experienced quilter, embroidered pictures, crocheted afghans, and pieced many throws for family members. She enjoyed TV game shows, solving word puzzles, playing bridge and bingo. Private family services will be at the Adrian Comer Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, followed by a brief graveside service at Brookside Cemetery in Rye. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice House. Online condolences, www. adrian-comer.com. Arrangements by Adrian Comer Funeral Home.
