OBITUARY ~ GEORGE A. DEIBERT

George A. DEIBERT, 90, of St. Joseph, Missouri, died Monday, April 23, 2001 at his home.

Mr. DEIBERT worked for the First Stockyards Bank for 14 years, then MFA Feed & Grain Mill for 25 years until retirement.

Born in Delphos, Iowa, on May 16, 1910, he was a resident of St. Joseph since 1926.

He was a member of Caring First Assembly, and a member of the former Wyatt Park Assembly of God Church where he served on the board and as treasurer for 47 years.

On October 9, 1932, he married the former Gladys Ruth VERBICK. She preceded him in death on September 13, 1994.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Anna Mae (STEPHENS) DEIBERT; stepmother Honor DAVIS DEIBERT; brother Arthur DEIBERT; sister Mildred FOLTZ; infant sister Beulah Belle DEIBERT; and several stepbrothers and a stepsister.

Survivors include his daughter, Ardella L. HECKMAN of St. Joseph, Missouri; his son George L. DEIBERT of Blue Springs, Missouri; sister Donella HARTMAN of Mount Ayr, Iowa; three stepbrothers, Fred DAVIS and Roy DAVIS, both of Clinton, Missouri, and Harry DAVIS of Leavenworth, Kansas.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the building fund for Caring First Youth Center or the Old Country Church Radio Broadcast, Inc.
