OBITUARY ~ A. EARL DEIBERT

Services for A[rthur]. Earl DEIBERT, 96, were held Monday, March 28, 1983 at 10 a.m. at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidentaden Chaple at St. Joseph, Mo., with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Iowa where a graveside services was held at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Phil KINTON officiating.

Music for the service was vocalist Rev. PATTERSON, and organist, Robert T. GRUBBS.

Mr. DEIBERT died Friday afternoon at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. He was a native of Delphos, Iowa, and had lived in St. Joseph since 1942. He resided for a short time at the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr before entering the University Hospital in Iowa City.

He retired at the age of 86 from the Producers Livestock Marketing Association of St. Joseph, Mo. He was a lifelong member of the Christian church and attended the First Assembly of God Church in St. Joseph, Mo. with his son George and family the past few years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna [(STEPHENS)], and by his wife, Honor, a son, Arthur, and infant daughter, Beulah Belle.

Surviving are one son, George A. DEIBERT and wife Gladys of St. Joseph, Mo.; two daughters and their husbands, Mildred and Forrest FOLTZ, Mesa, Ariz., and Donella HARTMAN and Ivan HARTMAN of Mount Ayr, Iowa, and a daughter-in-law, Vi DEIBERT; three stepsons and their wives, Harry and Anne DAVIS of Leavenworth, Kan., Roy and Alma DAVIS of Lee's Summit, Mo. and Fred and Margie DAVIS of Sedalia, Mo.; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

The following poem seems appropriate for Earl DEIBERT who was a loving father and grandfather.

"Loving and kind in all his ways.
Upright and just to the end of his days.
Sincere and true in his heart and mind.
A beautiful memory he left behind.
He had a nature you could not help loving;
A heart that was purer than gold.
And to those who knew and loved him,
His memory will never grow cold."
