OBITUARY ~ LLOYD CHRISTOPHER DANIELSON

Lloyd Christopher DANIELSON was born at home in Mount Ayr, Iowa on May 25, 1937. He was the fourth of eight children of Ruby KNIGHT and Lloyd Christopher DANIELSON, Senior. He was the only son and had seven sisters who adored him.

Lloyd was commissioned by the Washington State Patrol in 1960 and began his career with the patrol in Ritzville, Washington. He was transferred back to Shelton [WA] in 1971. Lloyd retired from the patrol in 1981 as a Captain for the WSP in the administrative office in Olympia. After retiring from the patrol, he worked a number of jobs, finally retiring as under sheriff for Mason County [WA] in 1993. He indulged his desire for adventure by working security for the Alaska Pipeline and as director of security for a cruise line in Alaska.

Lloyd enjoyed reading, golfing, playing guitar, spending time on his computer and camping with friends and family. He enjoyed traveling in their RV after retirement. Some of his favorite trips were those taken to his hometown in Iowa with his wife, sisters and their spouses and to his son Dave's in Southern California. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored and who adored him.

Lloyd was a devout family man. He was a hard worker, always willing to lend a helping hand. He treasured his family and friends about all else and could be counted on in times of need. He left a lasting impact on those who knew him. He was kind and thoughtful and had a great sense of humor which kept everyone all on their toes! All will miss him.

In his later years, Lloyd committed himself to studying the Bible and Lloyd's family is comforted by the fact that his is now home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His faith was an inspiration to his family.

Lloyd died at home on February 20, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father and mother was well as his sisters, Joyce DuFRENSE, Virginia MERCER and Jeanie ZYLER. He is survived by his wife, Lena; sisters, Margaret WILSON of Mount Ayr, Iowa, Mary Ann BARNES of Randle, Washington, Faith DANIELSON of Everett, Washington, Iva Lee BOURNE of Shelton, Washington; sons, Chris DANIELSON of Bellevue, Washington, David DANIELSON of La Habra Heights, California, Timothy DANIELSON of Olympia, Washington; daughters, Holly BRAZEL of Olympia, Washington and Carrie CHRISTIANSON of Lynden, Washington; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Friday, February 24, at 1 p.m. at Grace Community Covenant Church.
