OBITUARY ~ ELBERTA G. (DORSETT) CLARK

Elberta G. CLARK, age 85, of Creston died April 12, 2003 at the Creston Nursing and Rehab Center in Creston, Iowa.

Elberta, the daughter of Murrul and Absulum GOOSEBERRY DORSETT, was born September 10, 1917 in Knowlton, Iowa. In 1934 she married Jack CLARK of Mount Ayr. She was a homemaker and worked at Sun Valley Lake at Ellston and GITS Manufacturing in Creston for a short time. She lived in Ellston for 62 years, Afton five years and two years in Creston. She was affliated with the Methodist Church in Ellston.

Survivors include four sons, Otis CLARK and wife Patty of Cache, Oklahoma, Jackie CLARK and wife Joyce, Keith CLARK and wife Jill, all of Creston, and Dale CLARK and wife Debbie of Branson, Missouri; a daughter Lucille SHIELDS of Cache; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1973; a son Daniel CLARK; a son-in-law Jasper SHIELDS; an infant brother and a sister.

Elberta's first love was her family. She always enjoyed having many people around and cooking family dinners. She also loved to go to dances on Saturday nights or playing cards. She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother and friend, always putting others' well-being ahead of her own. She will be sorely missed by all.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2003 at Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home with Reverend Dwayne HENRICHS officiating. Casket bearers were Travis CLARK, Wade MOTSINGER, James CLARK, Pete DAVIDSON, Mike MOTSINGER and Larry FREIHAGE. Honorary pallbearer was LeRoy WADDELL.

Open visitation was held Tuesday evening, April 15, 2003. A memorial was established in her name.

Burial was in the Ellston Cemetery, Ellston.
