OBITUARY ~ JOSEPH MARTIN CAMPBELL

Funeral services for Joseph Martin Campbell, 93, were held Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1993, at the United Methodist Church in Clearfield, with Rev. Alan Rusk officiating.

Casket bearers were grandsons, and honorary pallbearers were Phillip Larson, Sherman Bathurst, Eldon Dillenburg, Doyle Trullinger, Howard Whittington, Larry Brammer, Sam Bathurst, Lewis Larson, Greg Larson and John Duey.

Music was provided by Mrs. Dick Longfellow and Mrs. Danny Kinder.

Interment was in Clearfield Cemetery with Wilson-Watson Service in charge of arrangements.

Joe was born at Martinsdale in Harrison County, Missouri, on August 20, 1900. He died on Oct. 9, 1993, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

He was the oldest child of John Albert and Judy J. (Warner) Campbell. Preceding him in death were all of his brothers, Charlie, Jim, Archie, Virgil and Hugh; sister Rosa; half-sisters Bernice and Lula; son Paul; and three grandchildren.

Joe was married to Bertha (Keller) Campbell on Nov. 11, 1926, at the bride's home by the Methodist minister Rev. Guy J. Winslow. To this union were born 10 children: Edith, Dale, Marvin, Melvin, Clyde, Donna, Ronald, Robert, Paul and Zelda.

Joe spent most of his life farming in the Diagonal, Shannon City, Lorimor, Redding, and Benton-Delphos areas. After retirement, he worked for Phil and Alberta Larson in the Clearfield area.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha of Lenox; daughters Edith Warren of Lorimor, Iowa, Donna Adams and husband Glenn of Santa Fe, Zelda Winslow and husband Dave of Lenox; sons Dale and wife Jean of Clearfield, Marvin of Santa Fe, Texas, Melvin and wife Alice of Phoenix, Ariz., Clyde and Nancy of San Pablo, Calif., Ronald and wife Carolyn of Houston, Texas, and Robert and Barbara of Denver, Colo.; three sisters-in-law, Lela of Creston, Veretta of Fayetteville, Ark., and Adeline of Bedford; 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
