OBITUARY - BETTY IRENE (FREIHAGE) DOVER

JOPLIN, MO Betty Irene DOVER, age 77, of Joplin, Mo., passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Freeman Hospital following an illness.

Betty was born March 1, 1933, in Ellston, Iowa, to Charles W. and Marie H. (EISENHAUER) FREIHAGE. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bird watching, making quilts and cooking great meals for her family.

Betty married Gerald M. "Jerry" DOVER on March 25, 1950. He survives.

Additional survivors include one daughter, Diana COOK, Broken Arrow, Okla.; five grandchildren, Corey FORD, Colby COOK, Brad COOK, Nikki FORD and Casey CALLIHAN; and 12 great-grandchildren, Caylee COOK, Kyle FORD, Hayden FORD, Olivia MIKESELL, Brad COOK Jr., Hannah HUYNH, Cameron CALLIHAN, Alex COOK, Allie FORD, Avery COOK, Colton CALLIHAN and Cade COOK.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa CHAPMAN in 2006; two brothers, Fred FREIHAGE in 1984, and Charles FREIHAGE in 2008; and one sister, Loretta BENNETT.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Gregory MECH officiating. Entombment will be in Ozark Memorial Park Mausoleum. The pallbearers will be her grandsons, Corey FORD, Colby COOK, Brad COOK Sr., Casey CALLIHAN and her great-grandsons, Kyle FORD, Hayden FORD and Brad COOK Jr. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard.

Memorial contributions may be given to Martin Luther School the Estella FRITZ Fund in care of the mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory. Online condolences may be made at www.masonwoodard.com
