OBITUARY ~ ETHEL ARRENA (STILL) DOOLITTLE
Ethel Arrena (STILL) DOOLITTLE, daughter of Leonard Leu and Mary Ellen (PARKER) STILL, was born in rural Ringgold
county on July 7, 1921 and passed away July 7, 2004 at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Ethel was
83 years old.
On June 15, 1937, Ethel was united in marriage to Clifford Dorman DOOLITTLE. To this union three sons
were born, Clifford LeRoy (Roy), Larry Leu and Melvin Eugene. In 1958, Steven LeRoy DOOLITTE, age 12, was warmly welcomed
as a fourth son.
Cliff and Ethel lived most of their lives on a farm north of Kellerton. In 1995, they moved to town.
After Cliff became ill, Ethel spent much of her time at Melvin's where she loved to watch the great-great-grandsons play
on the patio.
Ethel was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, and sister. Ethel spent many hours visiting with people at
sale barn cafes while Cliff was at the sale. Ethel loved fishing, shopping, traveling, playing pitch, and gardening. Ethel
absolutely adored her sons. She loved having her sons and all of their families get together. She cooked up meals with
a dash of this and a pinch of that, enough to feed an army. The grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren
were her greatest joy. She loved each and every one of them: nine grandchildren, Connie, Debbie, Brenda, Penni, Teena,
Valerie, Jeff, Michele and Mark; 10 great-grandchildren: LaDawna, Michael, Chad, Travis, Tiffany, Terry, Troy, Ben, Aric,
Amber, Katy, Koty, Jeffery, Cody, Chase, Stephanie, Dustin, Emilianne and Kraig; eight great-great-grandchildren: Aleigha, Tristan,
Darrian, Wyatt, Kaidan, Haleigh, Travis and Abbigal.
