ACCIDENT FATAL to MRS. CARL DeVRIES

A cerebral hemorrhage resulting from a fall caused the death Thursday morning of Mrs. Carl DeVRIES of Delphos. Mrs. DeVRIES was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Sadie OILER, Mrs. Bertha TONEY, Mrs. L. O. WEST, of Garner; Mrs., Joe EVERSALL, of Stuart; Mrs. Rhea FETTY, and Mrs. Ed BUCKHOLDT, of Pasadena, Calif.

Funeral services were conducted at the Rhodes Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Saturday, and burial in Rose Hill Cemetery at Lamoni.

Mrs. DeVRIES is survived by her husband; five children, Mrs. Linden FERBER, of Tingley; Mrs. Eva HUNSICKER, of Newton: and Margaret Ann, John, and Jimmy. of the home; one brother, Carl SMITH, of California one brother-in-law Art' DeVRIES, of Kellerton; and her mother.

Those from Lamoni who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond OILER, Mr. and Mrs. Quentin OILER, Mr. and Mrs. Harold OILER, Mrs. Sadie OILER, Mr. and Mrs. Frank TONEY and Jay TONEY.

NOTE: Publication name and date missing from obituary.

NOTE: Violet fell at the courthouse where she had went to sign papers as Carl had committed himself into the Physchiatric Facility at Clarinda due to stress and depression brought on by worries over their farming financial situation, and was seeking assistance. He was unable to attend Violet's funeral. Violet was born December 17, 1904, and died March 10, 1949 at the Union Hospital, Creston, Iowa.
