SERVICES TUESDAY FOR JAMES DENNEY

Former bank branch manager death at hospital Sunday, January 11, 1959.

James W. DENNEY, 86, died early Sunday morning at the Clarinda Municipal Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past 2-1/2 weeks. He had been in poor health for the last two years.

Before his retirement Mr. DENNEY had been a banker with the Page County State Bank of Clarinda. He had managed the branch bank at Coin and before that was in the banks at Shambaugh and New Market. The couple moved to Clarinda five years ago.

Mr. DENNEY was born on January 02, 1873, in Jasper County, Mo, near Carthage. In the spring of 1873 the family moved to Maloy, Ia, and he had lived in southwest Iowa since. In 1903 Mr. DENNEY was married to Ona HARRIS and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1953. Mr. DENNEY was a member of the First Methodist Church in Clarinda and had formerly been a member of the Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife here: two sisters, Mrs. Lucy IMUS of Opportunity, Wash, and Mrs. Fannie HIGGS of Colorado Springs, Colo: and one brother, Clyde of Mountain Grove, Calif.

The funeral service will be held at the Foster-Williams Mortuary Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. David ASH, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Old Memory Cemetery near New Market.
