OBITUARY - OPAL (MILLSAP) DAVENPORT
Opal DAVENPORT, 89, of Mount Ayr died May 7, 2006, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday May 9 at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The
Rev. Charles HAWKINS will officiate the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be
7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa, Mount Ayr Chapter.
Mrs. DAVENPORT, daughter of Cora (RUPE) and Hiram MILLSAP, was born Nov. 24, 1916, in Lesanville. She graduated from Mount
Ayr High School in 1935. On November 20, 1937, she married Darrel DAVENPORT in Creston. She was a farmwife and worked at a
variety of Mount Ayr businesses including Roger's Cafe, The Cap Factory, Ben Franklin, Places and B&M drive Inn.
Survivors include her daughter Marilyn (husband Charles "Bud") GRAHAM of Mount Ayr; brother Clarence MILLSAP of Urbandale;
three step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren and four step great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband June 12, 2001, son-in-law Bill MONAGHAN, brother Marion MILLSAP and two
sisters-in-law, Louise (MILLSAP) JOHNSON and Helen MILLSAP.
