OBITUARY - ALVERTA G. (BRINER) DAILEY

Alverta G. DAILEY was born on July 28, 1927 in Comstock, Nebraska to Burl and Violet BRINER. Alverta passed away on Sunday February 15, 2009 at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

In her early childhood the family moved back to Ringgold County. On May 20, 1944 she was married to George DAILEY where they farmed in Ringgold County. She worked alongside her husband on the farm. They were married for 66 years. On September 21, 1945 they were blessed with a son Paul Leroy DAILEY and on October 21, 1950, they had a daughter Nancy Lee DAILEY.

Alverta and her family were members of the Ringgold County Saddle Club and they went to horse shows in Missouri and Iowa. Alverta loved taking care of her family, decorating for the holidays, gardening and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, quilting and crafts.

Alverta loved having her nieces and nephews come and stay. She had a great love for her grandchildren and great grandkids.

Alverta was preceded in death by her son, Paul Leroy; parents Burl and Violet BRINER; father & mother in-law Clarence and Florence DAILEY; sister Joquette BRINER; brother-in-laws John DAILEY and Ellis MAUDLIN.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband George DAILEY; daughter and son-in-law Nancy & David LYNCH; grandson Jason LYNCH and wife Tara; granddaughter Meggan BROWN and husband David; great-grandchildren Paige and Paul (P. J.) LYNCH and Seth and Dreven BROWN; brothers Richard & Doris BRINER, Earl & Colleen BRINER, Tyrone & Denice BRINER, Van & Elaine BRINER, and Greg & Doris BRINER; sisters Claudette YOUNG, Candell SMITH, Pam & Dan WEIGLE, and Debby BRINER; sister-in-laws Doris DAILEY, Lucy MAUDLIN & Mary DETLOFF; special cousins Elma SELSOR, Erma & Leo DUREE, Lowell & Clara May GRIM.

A memorial fund has been established in her name to be decided later.

Services were held Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 1:30 p.m., Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe Street, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
