Kenneth CREVELING, 84, of Mount Ayr, died March 24, 2010, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Services are pending at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr.

OBITUARY - KENNETH RAY CREVELING

Kenneth Ray CREVELING was born in Ellston, Iowa on January 20, 1926 to Carl and Mary TOMAN CREVELING and departed this life on March 24, 2010. Kenny grew up in Ellston and graduated from Ellston High School in 1944. He was united in marriage to Norma Mae REES on February 27, 1951. He and Norma enjoyed 59 years of marriage. He served in Korea from 1950 to 1952.

Kenny and Norma owned and operated CREVELING Oil Company until his first heart attack forced him to sell the company. He also enjoyed working on the farm through the years. Following his retirement, Kenny enjoyed playing golf, gardening, traveling and dancing. He seldom missed morning coffee with the "coffee bunch."

Kenny was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Mt. Ayr in 1962 and attended the United Baptist Presbyterian Church.

Most of all, Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandchildren adored him. He was always a go-to person for advice on cars or careers, or whatever the issue might be, and he always had a joke on the tip of his tongue.

Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, brothers Jake and Mug. He is survived by wife, Norma, children Brent and wife, Jill, of Johnston, Iowa, Lesa and husband, Mike, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Kyle and wife, Stephanie, of Gretna, Nebraska. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jacqueline CREVELING, Mark CREVELING, Scott GRAY, Courtney GRAY and Grant CREVELING, brother, Marion CREVELING of Sun Valley Lake, Iowa, sister, Helen SCHAEDLICH of Johnston, Iowa, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Services held Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe Street, Mount Ayr, Iowa. Memorials are to the Mount Ayr Public Library.
