OBITUARY - RICHARD LEE CREGEEN

American Flag.jpg Richard Lee CREGEEN was born March 29, 1932 to Naomi Fern (GRAHAM) and Joseph Stanley CREGEEN in Diagonal. He graduated from Diagonal School in 1951. Richard later studied at AIB in Des Moines, Business College in Omaha and DeDanza in Cupertino, Calif. On May 1, 1952 Richard joined the United States Navy, serving until he was Honorably Discharged in 1959. Richard worked in the insurance business for four years in Menlo Park, Calif. in 1964 he started with the United States Postal Service as a distribution clerk. On Feb. 12, 1977, Richard married Ila Ingrid (LIND) in Menlo Park, Calif. In 1984 he worked at Glasstronics until retiring in 1988. Richard and Ila moved to Creston in 1995. Richard was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Creston.

Richard is survived by his wife, Ila Ingrid CREGEEN of Creston; one daughter, Mary (husband Eric) WATSON of Maple Valley, Wash.; five sons, Dennis CREGEEN of Campbell, Calif., Richard CREGEEN of Des Moines, David CREGEEN of Georgia, Roger CREGEEN of Des Moines and Dion (Amanda) CREGEEN of Novinger, Missouri; two step-daughters: Karen (Sherman) FETZER of Alvan, TX; Anne (Terry) HIGBEE of Campbell, Calif.; one step-son: Michael (Cheri) BERGST of Colorado Springs, Co.; one brother, Dale (Phyllis) CREGEEN of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Elsie CREVELING of Creston and Mary (Joe) McCALL of Joplin, Missouri; seven grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Roland in 2005.
