OBITUARY - CLARA BELL (SICKLES) CORNMAN

Clara Bell SICKLES, born in 1884, Rooks County, Kansas, was one of eleven children born to Homer and Susan (STEETH) SICKLES. When she was six months old, her family moved by covered wagon to Bedford [Taylor County], Iowa, arriving the day before Christmas. The family settled in the community of Athelston.

Clara married Oliver Turner CAMPBELL in May of 1903, and to this union was born six children: Donald "Bud"' Mildred; Maude WRIGHT of Jerico Springs, Missouri; Wilma HAYES of Plano; Robert of Indianola, Iowa; and Richard of Albany, Missouri.

Oliver passed away in 1931.

In 1943, Clara married Wrayman CORNMAN and they made their home in St. Joseph, Missouri until his death in 1962. Mrs. CORNMAN came to Benton [Ringgold County, Iowa] to make her home near her son and his wife, Bud and Lela CAMPBELL.

Clara died in 1971 and was interred at Benton Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.

NOTE: Oliver Turner CAMPBELL was born in Taylor County, Iowa, March 12, 1884, and died November 16, 1931, Missouri, with interment at Platteville Cemetery, Taylor County, Iowa. Oliver was the son of Ida Elizabeth (CARTER) CAMPBELL (1860- 1943) and Robert CAMPBELL (1859-1923) who were also interred at Platteville Cemetery.
