OBITUARY - FLORENCE I. COPPOCK

Florence Ida COPPOCK, 81, of the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr, formerly of Tingley, died Dec. 20, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday Dec. 29 at the United Methodist Church in Tingley. Charles HAWKINS, chaplain at the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr, will officiate the service. There will be a private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Tingley Community Center or Friday Singers. The Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., has charge of arrangements.

Mrs. COPPOCK, daughter of Lilley Florence (JOHNSTON) and Avery Roy SANDERSON was born September 14, 1920, at Diagonal. She graduated in 1939 from Shannon City High School. On March 18, 1939 she married Russell COPPOCK at the First United Methodist Church in Creston. She was a homemaker all her married life. She lived in Flint, Mich., during the war, moved to Council Bluffs, Stanton and then to Tingley in 1992. She moved to the Clearview home in Mount Ayr in 1999. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Tingley, Friday Singers and Kitchen Band of Tingley.

Survivors include six sons: Jim (wife Judi) COPPOCK of Clarinda, John (wife Josie) COPPOCK of Carroll, Jerry (wife Judy) COPPOCK of Bellevue, Neb., Jay (wife Diane) COPPOCK of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Jeff (wife Karen) COPPOCK and Jan (wife Juanita) COPPOCK, all of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Avery (wife Beverly) SANDERSON of Winterset; four sisters, Yreva (husband Hubert "Tompy") DAVENPORT of Clearfield, Pearl (husband Harold) GROUT of Kansas City, Kan., Leona (husband Tony) DRISKILL of Tingley and Darlene (husband Richard) HENRY of Holts Summit, Mo; 34 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Jack in 1959.

Interment was at Oakland Cemetery south of Shannon City, Iowa.
