NOTICE of DEATH

Civil War Flags.jpg Samuel P[eter]. COMBS died December 3, 1896, at the age of 59 years and 21 days, at his home, 1 mile north-east of Allendale, MO. He was born in Delaware County, Indiana, November 12, 1840. He moved with his father to Johnson County, Iowa in 1852 and to Ringgold County, Iowa, in 1859. He served in the civil war with the 18th and 29th Iowa Infantry in 1861 for three months. He married Sarah M[artha]. ARMSTRONG on November 12, 1863. She survives him with a large family of children.

NOTE: Samuel Peter COMBS enlisted on March 22, 1864 at the age of 23 as a Private with Company A of the 17th Iowa Infantry. He was mustered into Company G of the 29th Iowa Infantry on April 11, 1864, and mustered out of service at New Orleans, Louisiana, on August 10, 1865. - American Civil War Soldiers' Database, ancestry.com

Sarah Martha (ARMSTRONG) COMBS was born June 19, 1842, and died May 13, 1916. Sarah and Samuel were interred at Kirk Cemetery located northeast of Allendale, Missouri.
