OBITUARY - DORA ANNA (HILL) CLOUGH

Dora Anna CLOUGH was born October 7, 1889, at Maxwell, Iowa, to Alfred and Emma HILL. Her twin sister, Nora, died at infancy.

As a small child she lived in Kossuth County and South Dakota before moving to a farm southeast of Arispe, where she attended Pleasant Hill School.

On June 26, 1907, she was united in marriage to Frederick F. CLOUGH, who preceded her in death in 1967. They farmed all their lives, for a time near Kent, but most of the time in the Arispe and Shannon City area. The last few years she had lived in Tingley and Afton.

To this union four children were born: Aleeta WEEDA, of Des Moines; Althea ROBINSON, of Runnells; Gean LARIMER, of Afton; and Alvin CLOUGH, of Davis City. In addition to her children, she is survived by 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ava OVERHOLTZER, of Tingley.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Carla CLOUGH; a brother, Fletcher HILL, and a sister, Clara JONES, in addition to her parents, her husband, and a young brother and sister.

Dora was a member of the Shannon City United Methodist Church and lived a loving and kind life dedicated to her family and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 13, 1978, at the Stroud-Lindsay Funeral Home in Afton with Rev. James W. MORRIS officiating. Burial was at the Tingley Cemetery.
