OBITUARY - LENA PEARL (ROBERTS) CLARK
Lena CLARK, 87, of Mount Ayr died September 14, 2006, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.
Services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 18, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount
Ayr. The Rev. Susan THOMAS officiated the service. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. Memorials may be directed
to Mount Ayr United Methodist Church.
Lena CLARK, daughter of Nettie (STEPHENS) and Oscar ROBERTS, was born July 23, 1919, in Ellston. On March 7, 1947, Lena
married Paul CLARK in Glenwood. She worked as a cook at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr 20 years.
Survivors include her two sons, Jim (wife Margi) CLARK of Ankeny and Larry (wife Peggy) CLARK of Fayetteville, N.C.;
daughter Linda BUCKNER of Ankeny; sister Zelma WOOLLUMS of Mount Ayr; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Lee ROBERTS and sister Ella BEEDE.

OBITUARY - LENA PEARL (ROBERTS) CLARK
Lena Pearl CLARK, 87, of Mount Ayr, Iowa passed away September 14, 2006 at the Ringgold County Hospital. Lena was born
July 23, 1919 in Ellston, IA to Oscar and Nettie (STEPHENS) ROBERTS. She was baptized at the Ellston Methodist Church.
She attended country school in Kellerton, Iowa for grades first through eighth and attended high school two years in
Beaconsfield, Iowa and two years in Kellerton, graduating from high school in 1937. After graduating, Lena was a school
teacher from 1939 through May of 1946. She taught at Pleasant Valley school in Kellerton and Zwick school in Ellston.
On March 7, 1947, Lena was joined in marriage to Paul CLARK. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage. They had three children,
Jim, Linda and Larry. Paul and Lena purchased a farm on Blackmore Corner in 1949 and lived there until they moved into
Mount Ayr in 1972. Lena retired after working 20 years at Clearview Home.
Lena was a loving and gentle person who was
known for her beautiful crocheted afghans, plastic needlepoint, sewing and crafting. She was an active member of the
Friendship Club for [illegible] 40 years. [portion of obituary missing]

Oscar and Nettie ROBERTS; her husband, Paul' brother, Lee ROBERTS; sister, Ella ROBERTS BEEDE; brothers-in-law, Harold
CLARK, Clair WOOLLUMS and Mark BEEDE; sisters-in-law, Dorothy ROBERTS and Beulah CLARK; nephews, Marvin WOOLLUMS, Ron
SNYDER and Terry HAINLINE; nieces, Janene CLARK STACY, Frieda WOOLLUMS, Illene ROBERTS SNYDER and Ruth BEEDE THOMPSON
and son-in-law, Ron BUCKNER.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Jim CLARK and wife Margi and Linda
BUCKNER, all of Ankeny, Iowa and Larry CLARK and wife Peggy of Fayetteville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Melissa
HUDECEK and husband Jay and Rebecca CLARKE, all of Ankeny, Iowa, Bobbi BENTZ and husband Adam of North Liberty, iowa,
Brenda BUCKNER of Bloomington, Minnesota, Larry E. CLARK II of Fayetteville, North Carolina; great-grandchildren,
Clark and Kaitlynn BOERSMA and Alyson and Jayson HUDECEK, all of Ankeny, Iowa; sister, Zelma WOOLLUMS of Mount Ayr,
Iowa; brother-in-law Clair CLARK of Glenwood, Iowa, and nieces and nephews, and friends.
may be given in Lena's memory to the Mount Ayr United Methodist Church.
Services were conducted at the Wilson-Watson
& Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Monday, September 18, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Susan THOMAS officiating.
Musicians were Nancy SACKETT, Carol Anne McCREARY, Grace WARIN, Barbie BELZER and Jodie WURSTER.
Clark BOERSMA, Jay HUDECEK, Adam BENTZ, Brandon BUCKNER, Bill STRUTHERS and Dave AISTROPE.
Lena was laid at rest
in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr.
