OBITUARY - CLARENCE EUGENE CARTWRIGHT

Clarence Eugene CARTWRIGHT, son of George and Alice (REED) CARTWRIGHT, was born on March 8, 1892 near Davis City in Decatur County. He died April 13, 1967 in the Decatur County Hospital at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 5 days.

He spent his earlier life in and near Decatur and was united in marriage to Mabel Mae GLENDENNING of Mount Ayr on December 30, 1914. To this union 3 children were born: Chester, Alice and Pauline.

He spent his entire life in and near High Point engaged in farming, except for 2 years spent in Arizona, near Phoenix.

He gave his heart to God as a very young man and was a member of the High Point Methodist Church for 52 years.

He was a member of the Clay Lodge #193 since 1926 and at the time of his death was member of Temple Lodge 170 at Garden Grove.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel; 3 children, Chester of Leon, Alice SMITH of Des Moines and Pauline SHIRA of Albuquerque, N. Mex.; 1 daughter-in-law; 2 sons-in-law; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grand children; 3 brothers and 7 sisters; other relatives and friends.
