OBITUARY - EARL CARSON
Earl CARSON, 86, of Mount Ayr, formerly of Lineville, died April 16, 2004, at the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.
Services were 1 p.m. Monday, April 19, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home in Diagonal. The Rev. Karen GARRISON
officiated the service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville. A memorial has been established in his name.
Mr. CARSON, son of Maud (EVERLING) and Albert Eugene CARSON, was born Augugust 17, 1917, near Nevinville. He married Goldie
McCARTY and she died in January 1972. On Jan. 22, 1973, he married Phyllis (BRYN) ROBERTS in Corydon. He was a farmer and
logger. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis CARSON of the Seymour Care Center in Seymour; a brother, Leo CARSON of Diagonal; a
stepdaughter, Kathy HUGGINS of Lineville; one step-grandchild; two step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ivan and Ray CARSON; two sisters,
Lola CARSON and Beulah HERSOM; and a niece, Betty SCHAEFER.

OBITUARY ~ EARL LOREN CARSON
Earl Loren CARSON, son of Albert Eugene and Maud (EVERLING) CARSON, was born August 17, 1017 at rural Nevinville in Adams
county, Iowa, and passed away on April 16, 2004, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa at the age of 86 years, seven
months and 29 days.
Earl entered the United States Army on March 28, 1941, and was honorably discharged on December 19,
1945. After returning home from the Army, Earl worked at different jobs until he started farming near Lineville. He also
did logging with his brother, Ivan.
Soon after starting to farm near Lineville, Earl met and was united in marriage to
Goldie McCARTY. She passed away from illness in January of 1972. In January of 1973, Earl married Phyllis BRYN. Earl and
Phyllis lived in Lineville until their health forced both to care centers.
Earl's survivors include his wife Phyllis of
the Seymour Care Center; stepdaughter Kathy HUGGINS of Lineville, Iowa; one step-granddaughter Connie FIDLEY and two step-greatgrandchildren;
brother Leo CARSON of Diagonal, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Gene and Maud CARSON; wife Goldie; two sisters, Lola CARSON and Beulah HERSOM; two brothers, Ivan and Ray CARSON;
and a special niece Betty SCHAEFER.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2004 at Wilson-Watson &
Armstrong Funeral Home in Diagonal with Reverend Karen GARRISON officiating. Casket bearers were Rick WARD, Nick CARSON, Jon
SCHAEFER, Joe CALVIN, Jim NEWTON and Ryan FINE.
Earl was laid to rest in the Everygreen Cemetery, Lineville, Iowa.
