OBITUARY - ANNA PEARL CARSE

Anna Pearl CARSE, daughter of Reuben and Phoebe SHELDEN, was born Oct. 28, 1887, near Kellerton, Iowa, and passed away Dec. 18, 1968, at Indianola, Iowa, at the age of 81 years.

She was one of a family of nine children, seven of whom and her parents, preceded her in death.

Her early life was spent in Ringgold county, Iowa, and on April 8, 1905 [Bethany, Harrison County, Missouri], she was united in marriage with William F[ranklin "Frank"]. BEAR. Of this union were born 10 children, two of whom, Leonard and Thelma preceded her in death. In April 1944, she moved to Omaha, Neb., and on Aug. 23, 1945, was united in marriage with Fred CARSE, who preceded her in death.

Left to mourn her death are eight children - Glenn BEAR of Kellerton, Mrs. Theola BARBOUR of Des Moines, Orville BEAR of Tingley, Mrs. Frata BACH of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Gladys BEAL of San Francisco, Calif., Reuben BEAR of San Mateo, Calif., and Mrs. Edna STACY and Mrs. Doris CAMPBELL of Indianola; three stepsons; two stepdaughters: two brothers, Roy SHELDEN of Sunland, Calif., and Guy SHELDEN of Mount Ayr; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends, by whom she will be sadly missed.

Funeral services were held Dec. 21, from the Rhoades funeral home, with the Rev. Jerrold SWINTON officiating. Margaret PENCE was organist and casketbearers were Wallace TERWILLIGER, Lawrence ZARUBA, Gilmore BARBOUR, James TINDLE, Lynn BUELL and Loren RUSH.

Burial was in the Oliver cemetery near Ellston.

NOTE: Anna Pearl and William Franklin "Frank" BEAR divorced in the early 1940's.
