CHARLEY W. CAMPBELL DIES - Creston

Charley W. CAMPBELL, 84, of 622 N. Poplar St., Creston, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 1987, at the Greater Community Hospital [Creston] of cardiac arrest.

He was born Oct. 25, 1902, near Hatfield, Mo., the son of John A. and Lucille (WARNER) CAMPBELL. On Jan. 18, 1926, he married Lela BURGMAIER in Mount Ayr.

He farmed near Shannon City and Diagonal before moving to a farm near Creston in 1952. He retired from farming in 1957 and moved to Creston.

He was baptized in the Methodist Church.

Mr. CAMPBELL is survived by his wife, Lela of Creston; a son, Duane CAMPBELL of Creston; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Joe CAMPBELL of Lovington, N.M.; and a sister, Rosa BRAND of Bedford.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home. The Rev. M. Wayne CLARK will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery [Creston].

Memorials may be directed to the Heart Fund.
