Lyle attended school in Mount Ayr Public Schools. His early schooling was in Rice Township Silver Point school. He was an Army Veteran of W.W. II, service with the Medical Corp in New Guinea. The last few years all the surviving men had a reunion every year, and it was a great joy to Lyle to get together with the buddies and discuss war days.

Lyle and Lyla had the privilege of celebrating 50 years of marriage in their church in Kasnsas (sic) City on Decembr 2, 1989. This was a great highlight of his life.

He was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local 61, Boy Scouts of America, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Two of Lyle's favorite things to do after retirement were to go fishing with relatives and friends, and he was a great fan of the Kansas City Royals baseball team.

At the age of 19, he became a Christian. He was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Mount Ayr. When they moved to Kansas City, he and his wife became members of the Swope Park Baptist church and served faithfully there until his death. He served in several positions. He had many friends in that fellowship.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Maxine BAGLEY, and a brother, David Rex.

He is survived by his wife, Lyla, of Raytown, Missouri; two sons, David and wife Rosanna, and their children, Maria, John David, Joseph and Jason of Grandview, Missouri, and Roger and wife Zotoz and their children, Angelia, Nancy, Jarret, Alex and Evan of Shawnee, Kansas; two daughters, Jane Ann and her husband Gerry CAPLAN and their children, Tina, Camilla and Justin of Kansas City, Missouri, and Lisa Jeanne and her husband, Keith JACKSON, of Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers, Jack K.
