The Ringgold Record, 1891
Catherine "Amelia" FERBER was born in Warren county, Missouri, February 11, 1845, and died in Ringgold county, Iowa, October
11, 1891, aged 46 years and eight months. Sister FERBER was the mother of fifteen children, five of whom preceded her to the
land of spirits. She leaves an aged companion and ten children to mourn her departure, but not as those who have no hope, as she
gave bright evidence of her acceptance with God and died praising and giving God glory in her last moments. The church has lost
a faithful member, the community a good neighbor. She was a member of the United Brethren church at Star Center. The funeral
services were conducted by the writer at the church, after which she was interred in the Knowlton [Centenary] cemetery to
await the resurrection morning. May the blessing of the Great Head of the church rest on the bereaved family. The community
also heed the summons, "Be ye also ready."
- H. W. HARPER.
NOTE: Amelia was the wife of Herman FERBER who died at the age of 73 years 2 months and 4 days on February 17, 1904. Amelia and Herman were interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
